American Idol Season 9 Winner

Now we know where the spotlight will be on for the next couple of weeks.. On Lee DeWyze, after being announced the new American Idol of Season 9.

The finale show was jam-packed with special production numbers by ex-idols, by Christina Aguilera, Simon ang Garfunkel, Bret Michaels (who had a major health scare, but still won the apprentice), Janet Jackson (without her infamous wardrobe malfunction), etc. Paula Abdul even showed up to say goodbye to Simon Cowell, being this season his last. A lot of comedic stints and flashbacks were shown that were very entertaining..

Personally I thought Crystal would win, but what the heck, Lee was good too! Hehe!

Election 2010

This year’s election was obviously more peaceful than the past ones. But, was it more reliable? More honest? I am watching the hearing of the congress on the elections, gives me some doubts about it…. The manual audit was not 100% accurate, tsk tsk..Also, visiting juanvote’s website. Seems a lot of people did not stop on being vigilant after voting. They are still interested on the dependability of the automated elections.

Smartmatic was not able to answer certain questions regarding its inconsistencies. Made Rep. Teddy Boy Locsin shout “son of a &*%$#” on national TV and radio!

Girls aged 6 and 7 performed in front of a crowd to the tune of Beyonce’s Single Ladies. Just wondering, where are their parents? Did they know that their children will dance this way?! Tsk.. Tsk.. If they do this at this age? What will they be doing at 18?

Pahiyas Festival

Every May 15, Lucban Quezon also celebrates its patron saint- San Isidro Labrador, the saint of farmers. Houses have this friendly competition of having the best decoration made of colorful “kiping”- rice flour shaped as leaves, fruits, vegetables, etc. Personally, this is one festival you should not miss.

A day tour during this festival can be arranged by travel agencies.

Pulilan’s Carabao Festival

Every 14th and 15th of May, people from Pulilan, Bulacan parade their work animals, mostly carabaos, are made to parade in honor of their patron saint, San Isidro Labrador- the patron saint of farmers. Carabaos are dressed up with paint, garlands, accessories, etc. paraded, then made to kneel in front of their parish (church). This is a way of thanking the saint for a bountiful harvest. Visit Pulilan and experience this yourself!

The script for Avatar was developed 16 years ago (1994) by James Camron (the director of Titanic, which the the highest grossing film ever), but the technology needed for the film was not yet available. In 2005, further improvements took place. It is even shown in 3D!

Budget was said to be around $300 million, but what the heck! If this film grosses as much as Titanic, each second of waiting will be worth it!
