Cheapest Laptop for Less Than Php 2000!

Got so surprised when I came across this news about some Indian investor developed a touchscreen device which can let you browse the internet, read PDF files, do video conferencing, etc. Everything for less than Php 2000! If that isn’t cheap enough for you, they are trying to get the price lower to around Php 500-1000. A very cheap alternative from the now famous iPad!

Gin Blossoms in Manila

70 Year Old Woman Gives Birth

Rajo Devi, a 70 year old Indian woman, should be expecting a grandchild at her age, but instead gave birth to her first child, a girl. After undergoing infertility treatment and in vitro fertilization, she was able to give birth via Cesarean section. Dad is 72 by the way, and this is his first child as well. Mom and baby are reported to be doing well.

Devi is the second woman in India who gave birth at her 70′s.

Election 2010

This year’s election was obviously more peaceful than the past ones. But, was it more reliable? More honest? I am watching the hearing of the congress on the elections, gives me some doubts about it…. The manual audit was not 100% accurate, tsk tsk..Also, visiting juanvote’s website. Seems a lot of people did not stop on being vigilant after voting. They are still interested on the dependability of the automated elections.

Pahiyas Festival

Every May 15, Lucban Quezon also celebrates its patron saint- San Isidro Labrador, the saint of farmers. Houses have this friendly competition of having the best decoration made of colorful “kiping”- rice flour shaped as leaves, fruits, vegetables, etc. Personally, this is one festival you should not miss. Banderitas 2010

A lot of focus has been made on who won the elections. Now that it is done, which candidate do you will have the initiative to take down their huge billboards or remove their pasted posters from our streets? Who do you think would recycle or reuse, and clean up their mess?!  The Comelec was never strict on implementing the rules on postering.  I never heard any single candidate who have been punished because of this. I hope a conscious sector in our government would start disciplining these somehow “nuisance” candidates. (more…)

Pulilan’s Carabao Festival

Every 14th and 15th of May, people from Pulilan, Bulacan parade their work animals, mostly carabaos, are made to parade in honor of their patron saint, San Isidro Labrador- the patron saint of farmers. Carabaos are dressed up with paint, garlands, accessories, etc. paraded, then made to kneel in front of their parish (church).  This is a way of thanking the saint for a bountiful harvest.
