What Do Politicians Do?
The Pangandaman vs. Dela Paz controversy is still alive. Accusations are thrown back and forth. Cases were filed. But where will it go? Personally, just like in any other “big story” it will fade away. I mean, I don’t like that to happen but it is how the world of politics in the Philippines goes.
Media is a huge help for people who needs their stories to be heard, to tell everyone how politicians use their powers unjustly. But after sometime, there will be a new “big story” and your story will not be in the headlines anymore- it can fade slowly or in a snap. In Jun Lozada’s case, he isn’t in the newspapers or the primetime news anymore. Filipinos move on so fast.
Sometimes, the government intentionally makes a news-worthy event to cover up unfavorable stories about them. The Pangandamans are quite influential. Hopefully, people in the courts will have no bias. People may move on but the courts will handle this, for years I presume.
Most politicians have this syndrome called arrogance. They want to keep their “power”, power that they owe the Filipino people. They have this illusion that they are untouchable- that they are better than anybody else.
We can never really know what exactly happened. Each side of the story is so different. Optimistically, the truth will come out and justice be served.

i find politics very uninteresting because everything seems fake to me. i really don’t know how we are to deal with politicians. maybe we will be much better off without them don’t you think so too?
