Rihanna's New Tattoo
Saturday, March 28, 2009 | 0 comments

Rihanna has several tattooes. But this is the weirdest one, especially after the assault issue with boyfriend Chris Brown. She now has a tatoo on her ribcage- a tattoo of a gun. Kind of violent in a way.

At first she thought of putting that tattoo on each of her shoulders. Had it pen-drawn first. Finally she decided to put it somewhere more concealing.

She is also seen recently wearing a necklace with gun pendants.

I hope she is alright, that this is just a phase.. Not to be the next psycho- Britney before.

Ouch!

I assume the mechanics of this game is that you should finish a tongue twister and the guys' "treasures" won't be smashed.

Haha! Funny but kinda cruel! I mean, I can imagine how excruciating that experience could be! It takes a lot of concentration for you to finish a tongue twister. More so if you are pressured- you facing a "banger" that will hit you in the crotch if you get it wrong!

Is that courage? Or simple stupidity?! Hehehe..

Havaianas Flip Flops Recall
Friday, March 20, 2009 | 2 comments

The famous flip flop brand is now recalling certain models for children. This is due to high levels of lead which is used in decorative paints of the well-known "rubber slippers".

Lead is used to make the paint durable. Even in small amounts, it can make you have negative effects such as loss of appetite, constipation, anemia, etc. But in children, effects are worse because their kidneys are a lot more susceptible to damage. Pregnant mothers in their last trimester exposed to lead can damage their growth and development, even resulting to miscarriages or still birth.

It is disappointing to know that this brand has high levels of lead too, especially in models for children! People pay a great deal of money to buy and collect these stuffs. I thought that I should just be vigilant of items that come from China. Well, I guess not anymore! How would we know if the goods that we buy are safe. Isn't it but right that the government allows items to be sold after they are screened. Imagine the panic of the parents who bought their children these expensive flip flops, later knowing that they may be poisoned by it!

Oh well!!

Standard Cellphone Chargers
Tuesday, March 3, 2009 | 0 comments

Imagine if all our appliances use different electrical outlets or different cables. How chaotic our lives would be! This is how cellphone companies are right now. Different phone, different type of charger.

I am sure at one point of your life, you have looked for a charger but no one has the type that you can use. Nokia cellphones have 2 types of chargers, the "fat" and the "thin". Samsung, Motorola, Lg and others have their own.

Finally, these mobile phone companies have realized that they will make our lives more convenient if they will use just one standard-size phone charger! Hopefully by 2012, majority of the industry will conform. Phew!

Diapers Can Save the World!
Monday, March 2, 2009 | 0 comments

Except for those nursing mothers and working in the hospitals, who could claim that "diapers can save the world". Apparently this is true in some extent because tests show that gels in diapers absorb radioactive contamination. Sorry for terrorists who plan to "dirty bomb" the planet. Bwahahahaha!

Tests have shown that gels in disposable diapers absorb 80-90% of radioactive toxins in marble tops. Absorption differs with different textures though...

Note: These tests utilized unused diapers only! Hehehe!

Rihanna Reconciles with Chris Brown

Imagine my surprise when I heard this on TV.. Rihanna went back to the guy who abused her. I understand if she forgave him, but not to go back to him! Seeing her beaten up face, why did she bury the hatchet?! They were seen having a vacation in Florida! As if nothing happened. As if nobody knows..

This maybe a case of a "battered woman syndrome" where women cannot help but forgive their abusive partners and reunite with them. Women patch up with their partners for different reasons, maybe because of financial dependence, they believe it was their fault in the first place, or maybe because she wants to keep her family complete. But whatever it is, if it happens once, it can happen again and the beating gets worse. Lucky for the female to be alive before she gets out of the relationship.

cont..

This is what I do not comprehend with Rihanna, I mean I know I am not close to her to know private details.. but.. I consider her to be more famous than Chris Brown. She didn't make it because of him, she had all her hits without his help. And after the abuse went public, a big part of the multimedia worldwide was boycotting him, leaving his career in the trash bin. She doesn't need him!

Rihanna's father stated that whatever makes his daughter happy, he will support. May it be good or bad. He will just be there for her whatever happens. Not a lot of fathers can be that supportive!

Now why are they kissing and making up?! Oh well, it is her life, it is her decision!

Parents: Praising is Powerful
Wednesday, February 25, 2009 | 0 comments

Praising your children for being intelligent can sometimes be bad for them. But praising them for their efforts can be better.

Studies show that complimenting your child for the effort that he made influences him to take risks, enjoying himself in the process. Children praised for being smart tend to choose challenges that they think they can manage. They decline difficult tests and if given, they become upset or discouraged.
